1、Contour LM4020 Overviews

Higher Performance Laser Cutting System:
Contour LM4020 has selected the most advanced laser source and laser cutting head in the worldwide. It incorporates the best quality components and configuration, such as Siemens 840D Control System, linear driven system, Star linear rails, etc.
More Advance Configuration:
A.Beam
Contour LM4020 adopts the hanging beam structure, which has following
advantages:
1.Compared to the cantilever structure, for the working point of the
driving force is in the gravity center of the beam, the running speed of the hanging beam is more higher and can reach to 200m/min with higher stability.
2.Compared to the bridge structure, the hanging beam’s electric control is more simple, system is more stability and the operation is more convenient.
So, Contour LM4020 is more suitable for high speed and high power cutting.

B.High speed transfer table:
Contour LM4020 adopts the vertical elevating transfer table, which has the following advantages:
A. Higher lifting power,and more convenient to install;
B. Combined with the hanging beam, the structure is more reasonable;
C. In the working area, the space under the working table is bigger, which is easier to install the chip conveyer and fume extraction fan and dust collector.

C.Driven System:
The X and Y axes of Contour LM4020 adopts the Siemens control
system and linear driven system. Compared to the traditional Siemens motor and gear rack structure, the driving force of the linear motor is more powerful, the acceleration is higher and reaches to 1G, the running is more stability and the speed can reach to 200m/min.
The rails of X,Y and Z axes are with high quality STAR linear rails, which
can ensure the high precision and stability.

2、Main Features

A.Control
Contour LM4020 adopts the most advanced control system in the world – Siemens 840D CNC, the interface of which has been improved a lot. It’s more suitable for laser cutting machine.

B.Pierce Detection
Pierce detection uses these same sensors to determine if the beam has penetrated the plate during the pierce cycle, this allows us to use the highest quality pierce while minimizing delays caused by the variation in piercing cycle times.

C. Capacitance height following
Height following is by a capacitance system, a high frequency is passed to the cutting head that is regulated by the capacitance of the metal parts of the nozzle, as this approaches a metallic object the capacitance changes, thus the frequency follows, this is compared to a table and the CNC control uses this information to adjust the Z axis servo position to an optimal position here.

D.Spot laser
A spot laser that sits offset from the head is used to assist in job setup.

E.Beam Radius Adjusted

The adaptive optics system on the Contour will automatically maintain the programmed beam focused spot.

F.Beam waist compensation
Laser beams are not parallel, therefore while we move the head around the cutting table the beam diameter changes. To maintain the beam radius the system automatically adjusted the beam waist position with adaptive optics to maintain the optimal beam at position of the lens.

G.Auto Focus
The focal position of this machine is determined by that set in the expert database and is adjusted via a servo in the cutting head.

H.Unique Beam Quality Control
Beam quality is the key of laser cutting craftwork. We adopt the best laser resonant cavity and the unique beam quality adjusting system to optimize the beam’s shape and orientation.

I.Safety System
Contour LM4020 adopts Siemens Safety Integrated System, which is integrated in CNC core part. And the machine’s running and all functions are based on safety system.

J.Mass flow gas system
In the Contour LM4020 we use two Mass flow controllers one for piercing and one for cutting, these controllers are factory calibrated in Germany for use with pure Oxygen and Nitrogen. The operator still sets the desired pressure at the nozzle and the nozzle size, the true flow is then calculated to achieve this.
1. If the incorrect nozzle is fitted or a nozzle is damaged the calculated pressure will be wrong, which will highlight the problem reducing the risk of simple mistakes.
2. The flow sensor is not dependant on upstream variations in pressure, nor is it subject to temperature variations, thus giving fewer variables to the cut.

Oil blast
For cutting thick plate a blast of oil before piercing can increase the performance of the machine by stopping the molten slag sticking to the surface allowing a good start to the cut

Controllable shield gas
Shield gas can assist the speed and the quality of cut in poorer quality materials and thicker high quality materials. The shield can be switched off for pierce which allows a much better pierce.

Expert database
This machine comes with a cut parameter database; this allows all aspects of a cut to be preset for each material type, leaving few adjustments for the operator on known material types. This includes all aspects from gasses and pressures, power and feed, to cut monitoring thresholds and pierce styles, once set up this is a valuable tool that allows very simple use monitoring and programming

Traveling Bin
The table was designed as a traveling bin.

Warning Lamp System
The machine will be fitted with a three light and horn warning system, green for machine is running safely Red flash when beam is on and shutter open, orange flash when there is an error, green flash to alert when an object is in zone 1. Horn will blast for object intrusion or door closure.
