AVESTA FCW 308L/MVR Cryo
AVESTA FCW 308L/MVR Cryo is a new type of flux-cored wire with controlled weld metal ferrite content (FN 3-6). It is particularly suitable when good cryogenic toughness (> 32J) and lateral expansion (>0.38mm) down to -196°C as specified for LNG applications are requried. The rutile type flux-cored wire provides excellent positional characteristics and high travel speed.
308L/MVR Cryo is designed for welding austenitic stainless steel type 19 Cr 10 Ni, but can also be used for welding titanium and niobium stabilised steels such as ASTM 321 and ASTM 347.
AVESTA FCW 316L/SKR Cryo is a new type of flux-cored wire with controlled weld metal ferrite content (FN 3-6). It is particularly suitable when good cryogenic toughness (> 32J) and lateral expansion (>0.38mm) down to -196°C as specified for LNG applications are requried.
316L/SKR Cryo is designed for welding austenitic stainless steel type 18 Cr 12 Ni 2.5 Mo, but can also be used for welding titanium stabilised steels such as ASTM 316Ti.
The chemical composition and mechanical properties of the weld metal produced by Avesta FCW Cryo meet the requirements of both EN ISO 17633:2006 and AWS A5.22-95.
The composition of the flux gives excellent arc stability, very little welding spatter and smooth weld finishes in all positions.
Avesta FCW 308L/MVR Cryo and FCW 316L/SKR Cryo are available in 1.20 mm diameter and is supplied layer wound on 15-kilo wire basket spools.
Avesta Welding’s programme of filler metals for low temperature applications also includes covered electrodes as well as MIG, TIG and SAW wires.
